The problem.

Only 14.5% of workers in the construction world are female, but less than 2% of workers in manual trades are women, according to the construction training and registration body CITB.

The reality is that companies must harness the power and skills of women to help address the skills crisis within the construction industry.

Our solution.

Through a collaborative approach, Women and Manual Trades provides advice, support and guidance to housing providers, training organisations and employers as well as policy makers, to facilitate the growth in women’s career opportunities within the construction sector.

Our Focus.

The primary focus of Women and Manual Trades is to work with colleges, training organisations, building trades and construction industry employers, to help them recruit and retain tradeswomen in order to tackle the current serious skills shortage, and achieve a better gender balance between their employees.
